Borrow App is an app that makes renting cars easy. It focuses on helping users quickly find cars near them and get all the important details in one place.
The Challenge
For this project, I was not allowed to do any research or create wireframes before designing the app. Instead, I used my own ideas and design skills. Even without the extra steps, the app worked well and looked great. The feedback I got from users proved that my designs were impactful.
User Feedback
What the users liked:
Simple design: Users found it easy to see important information like the car’s model and rental price.
Helpful icons: Icons next to car details made it easier to understand everything at a glance.
Unique idea: Users liked that Borrow App focused on renting specific car models, which is different from most car rental apps.
What could be better:
Button visibility: One user had trouble finding the ‘View Details’ button because it was grey and hard to see.
Checkout process: After paying, users wanted to go straight to a screen showing their rented car instead of searching for it in another section.
Improvements
Better buttons: I changed the ‘View Details’ button to black so it’s easier to see.
Clearer navigation: The app now automatically takes users to their rented car details after checkout.
Progress tracking: Adding a simple progress bar helps users know where they are in the process.
What I Learned
This project showed me that strong design doesn’t always need research or wireframes. By testing the app with real users, I found ways to improve it and make it even better. Borrow App’s design was simple and clear, which made it easy for people to use. Small changes based on user feedback can make a big difference.
