Overview

Apple Blueprints is a website that helps Apple users find clear and trusted information about new or upcoming products. Many people have bought Apple products only to find out later that a newer version was about to come out, often at the same price. This can be frustrating because it feels like you’re missing out on the latest features or wasting money.

I started this project to make it easier for people to know what’s coming next. With Apple Blueprints, users can quickly see if it’s a good time to buy or if they should wait for the next release. My goal is to help Apple users make smarter choices, save money, and feel more confident when buying their favourite tech.

Problem

Many Apple customers don’t spend much time checking if a newer version of a product is coming out before they buy it. This is because most rumour websites can be full of clickbait and unreliable information.

As a result, many customers skip their research and purchase the product anyway.

Objective

My main goal was to clearly show upcoming products and list their new features, so people can decide if it’s worth waiting for the next version. I kept the wording short so users could get the key information quickly.

I also focused on making it clear, easy to use, and trustworthy so people would want to come back to the site.

Process

I followed a design process to ensure the website would actually be effective as solving the users' needs.

Research

I gathered feedback from online communities and forums where Apple users discussed their issues with current resources.

Here were the key findings:

  • Users wanted a clear, organized list of upcoming products
  • Many were put off by clickbait headlines and unverified rumours
  • Reliable information was important for building trust and helping with decision-making

Ideation

Using the insights from my research, I came up with a few ideas on how the site can be laid out. I tested displaying the products in a list format, separating them by product, and displaying them by month in a grid format.

Mockups

I created a few mockups to outline the website’s structure. The focus was on:

  • A grid layout to arrange product information by month
  • Clear symbols to show the product release status (rumoured, announced, or released)
  • A simple interface to improve readability and reduce mental effort

Testing

Due to a small user base, limited usability testing was done. However, I made improvements based on imagined use cases and observed navigation habits.

For example, since users often clicked between products, I suggested adding a carousel feature to make product browsing easier.

Conclusion

The final design effectively met users' needs by:

  • Organizing product information in a simple, easy-to-navigate grid layout
  • Using clear visual symbols to show product release status
  • Ensuring reliability by only using trustworthy Apple leak sources

This project is still in the early stages, but I believe that with more time and effort, it could make a huge difference in making confident purchasing decisions
